We are delighted that the Federal President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, takes on the patronage of the Centennial of the Planetarium.
“By taking on the patronage, the Federal President honors planetariums as extracurricular venues for learning and providing ‘gateways to the universe’. They allow everyone an up-close experience of the fascinating cosmos and where we stand in the universe.” says Dr. Björn Voß, the president of the Society of German-language Planetariums (Gesellschaft deutschsprachiger Planetarien e. V.). The German Federal President will accompany the entire anniversary period from 2023 to 2025.
The planetarium celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2023. To celebrate this great invention, the International Planetarium Society (IPS), the Gesellschaft Deutschsprachiger Planetarien e. V. (GDP) and the Carl Zeiss Foundation have planned many activities and events for two anniversary years.
