The URANIA-Planetarium in Potsdam will be home to the newest Zeiss technology starting in June. With its brilliant night sky, the ASTERION star ball together with a VELVET LED fulldome system will be the first permanent installation of its kind on public display. After 40 years of loyal service, the old ZKP 2 star projector will leave the dome, together with a 12 year old fulldome system. The URANIA-Planetarium is comprised of an eight meter dome with 46 seats and opened for the first time in 1968. State funding by the Brandenburg Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Science and municipal funding by the state capital of Potsdam made this investment possible.
